Data backup and recovery experts ADAM Continuity have made key appointments as the company strengthens its position as a leading cloud specialist.

The company appointed Ronan McCurtin as Managing Director earlier this year to oversee the implementation of a number of new cloud backup and recovery solutions for businesses.

Ronan, who has a strong background in sales and client management in the technology sector, has now made several strategic appointments to help build on the firm’s success.

Nigel Hoggart, formerly of Capital Continuity, joins ADAM as a business continuity specialist. Nigel has a proven reputation in the business continuity and managed IT services market and is an expert in cloud services.

Joining Nigel as a business continuity specialist are Simon Lloyd, who has 16 years’ experience in business continuity and managed services, and telemarketing expert Jo Godridge, who becomes ADAM’s lead generation manager. Both Simon and Jo join ADAM from previous roles at Phoenix.

Kieron Moore, previously a client account manager, has been promoted to Partner Manager, with responsibility for recruiting partners to market ADAM’s solutions.

The appointments come as ADAM Continuity, based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, relaunches its range of new cloud-based solutions to help businesses securely and reliably back up their systems.

The firm’s Backup and Recovery service manages 40,000 backup jobs for clients a month and provides lightning-fast server recovery in the event of a system failure.

Its Replication for Recovery service offers real-time backup and virus protection for critical business servers, reducing system downtime to a matter of minutes.

ADAM uses NetApp’s market-leading replication services to give protection against issues such as data corruption, virus attack and user error.

Ronan McCurtin said: “I’m delighted to make these appointments as we further strengthen ADAM Continuity’s market-leading cloud-based business continuity solutions.

“Nigel, Simon, Jo and Kieron are key members of the team who place excellence and customer service at the heart of everything they do. I look forward to working closely with them during this exciting period for ADAM Continuity.”

Unlike other cloud backup companies, ADAM also has a host of physical backup services and is able to provide fully kitted-out offices with seamlessly backed up systems for staff to move into in the event of a major disaster such as a fire or flood.

The firm has relaunched its website at www.adam.co.uk which gives comprehensive details about the range of services it offers.

Award-winning data recovery specialists ADAM Continuity will host the forum, called The Future of Backup and Disaster Recovery… in the Cloud, at Sandford Springs Golf Club, Kingsclere, near Basingstoke, on Tuesday, May 20.

The event is open to delegates from all firms and organisations and will be particularly relevant to IT managers, systems analysts, finance directors, IT directors and anyone involved in back-ups and data resilience roles.

The session begins at 9.45am and concludes with a lunch and networking opportunity at 12.30pm. Guests are welcome to join staff from ADAM Continuity for nine holes of golf after the session.

Ronan McCurtin, managing director of ADAM Continuity, based in Basingstoke, said: “As industry experts, we understand the importance of securely backing up your data.

Business leaders are invited to a free lunch and seminar where they can learn more about making sure their data is secure in the event of a disaster.

Award-winning data backup experts ADAM Continuity are to hold a briefing on trends surrounding data growth where free advice will be given on how organisations can make sure their data can be restored if the worst happens.

Many businesses are at risk of losing vital information forever if their technology fails because they do not have protection in place.

The event, to be held at Watford FC’s Vicarage Road Conference and Events Centre on Thursday, March 27, includes a Q&A session on data backup and recovery and is also a valuable networking opportunity for companies in the region.

Speakers include Niall Mackey, general manager of leading cloud security  Topsec Technology, Ian Burleton, head of solutions at ADAM Continuity, and Ronan McCurtin, Managing Director at ADAM.

Ronan said: “With the amount of data used by companies expected to grow by 800 per cent over the next five years, businesses are under great pressure to ensure they have sufficient capacity and the capability to restore their data in the event of a disaster.

“This, combined with the need to have systems operational round the clock and the focus on reducing budgets, means business owners and IT managers need to come up with more efficient strategies.

“A large percentage of businesses do not have their data backed up and of those that do, most have either failed to test their disaster recovery procedures or store their backed-up data on site.

“This is a worrying trend as research shows that half of all businesses which suffer a disaster or data loss with no effective plans for recovery will fail within the first 12 months.”

Doors for the seminar open at 9.30am for a 10am start, and the session concludes with lunch at 1.15pm.

Guests are asked to register to secure a place. To book, call Wendy Mills at ADAM Continuity on 01256 378134 or email wmills@adam.co.uk

Business continuity specialist ADAM Continuity has entered into a partnership with Capital Continuity (CCL) to strengthen the cloud-based services it offers clients.

ADAM now offer a Replication For Recovery service based on the multi-platform Business Interruption Protection Services (BIPs) provided by CCL to help protect its customers from server failure.

CCL’s BIPs technology replicates customers’ servers in real-time to Adam’s cloud infrastructure to ensure that critical IT systems are protected from interruption, failure or disaster.

Replication For Recovery works regardless of the hardware or applications a business uses, and for any amount of data storage.

Should a customer’s servers fail for any reason, the partnership means that Adam Continuity will be able to get systems up and running again in a matter of minutes thanks to CCL’s BIPs technology.

The partnership underpins ADAM’s increasing focus on cloud services and its move away from the traditional “ship to site” model to faster and more cost-effective server replication services.

ADAM Continuity, based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, will continue to offer a wide range of round-the-clock business continuity services for customers, allowing them to recover critical systems within minutes if necessary.

Ronan McCurtin, recently-appointed Managing Director of ADAM Continuity, said: “ADAM is dedicated to providing fast, effective recovery services for customers whose critical systems fail or are interrupted for any reason.

“This partnership with CCL enables us to strengthen our cloud offering and in most cases we will be able to bring systems back online within a matter of minutes – whatever kind of hardware they are using.

“CCL share our vision of virtually seamless, reliable business protection services and we are delighted to partner with them.”

Nigel Hoggart of Watford-based CCL said: “CCL are proud to partner with ADAM Continuity and we are very much looking forward to working with ADAM to help protect its customers’ critical systems.”

A company which ensures firms are protected from IT disasters took home an industry award after being named as a winner at a conference in Holland.

ADAM Continuity, based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, was named Evault Service Provider of the Year for Western Europe at the EVault Cloud-Connected Conference 2013, held at the Hilton Amsterdam hotel.

The company, part of the Centerprise International group, specialises in providing backup services so that firms can quickly recover data in the event of a system failure.

It provides and manages EVault’s cloud systems for its customers, ensuring that time and money are not lost if there is a problem with their IT systems.

The EVault system avoids using tapes to back up systems – and instead data is transferred and securely held in ADAM’s own vaults in the UK.

ADAM Continuity’s Managing Director Mitesh Chauhan and Director of Sales Ronan McCurtin attended the conference and picked up the award.

Mitesh said: “We pride ourselves on our integrity, knowledge and value-for-money solutions and on knowing that our cloud services provide security to our customers.

“Our job is to step in with the worst happens and get businesses back up and running as seamlessly as possible. I’m pleased that our expertise has been recognised with this award.”

EVault’s conference rewarded systems resellers, distributors and partners for their successes and gave them the chance to network and swap advice. ADAM Continuity offers a round-the-clock service to step in and help whenever disaster strikes. As well as data backup, ADAM offers entire office recovery suites which businesses can move in to at a moment’s notice in the event of a problem such as a fire or flood.

Businesses which want to find out more about how cloud services can work for them are invited to a forum titled “What To Consider in the Cloud”. The forum will be hosted by ADAM Continuity at its head office in Chineham, Basingstoke from 9am on Thursday, December 5.

ADAM Continuity experts will discuss how cloud backup and email services can ensure that business continues as usual even when disruption occurs.
